The structure of this course is to provide a basic understanding of current Drilling Processes and the hazards which are involved within the Drilling Industry and open communication between the Drill Crew and Non-Drilling personnel that may be involved or associated with the Drilling Process. The training program has the benefit of being able to be structured to suit the direct needs of each client.
This certification program is designed specifically to identify and assess the competence level of experienced Drillers in the safe and correct operation of a Drill Rig. The program will also assist identify and advise any areas of development of the driller which may be required.
The course is designed not only to cover the requirements of conducting an investigation and associated records, but also provide hands on activities to gain direct experience in relation to what actions are to be undertaken during the course of an investigation, either at minor level or in relation to more serious incidents.

This training program covers the application of risk management processes in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes identifying hazards; assessing and identifying unacceptable risk; identifying and recommending treatments; contributing to the implementation of treatments; and reviewing safety system documentation.
DICAT is an alternative to the Australian RII National Qualifications. They are capable of taking an employee from entry level through to supervisor. As an example, DICAT is recognised by the New Zealand government as their National Qualifications in drilling.
